During my 17 years with WMAC, had it not been for Past Chapter Presidents Big Al Rich, Don McCalop, Larry Elmore and strong supporters; Faye, Joann, Ms. Margaret, Ervin, Dupree, Mr. Nathaniel, Tempie, Bob, and many others; our chapter might not have been in the great shape it is in today. SHSAA,Inc. has been their life-long dream & legacy; now it is time for us “younguns” as we’re so fondly called to carry the torch for them as they relax, provide guidance, enjoy the fruits of their labor, and support our efforts toward community service and scholarships.
 
I’d also like to say THANK YOU to the new WMAC 2019-2021 “Dream Team”. This is our time to let our past leaders know these five (5) things: 
(1) You are truly loved and appreciated, 
(2) We were listening as you were teaching, 
(3) Though you are seasoned; you remain a wealth of knowledge, 
(4) You believed in us when you awarded us a scholarship to go forth/do good things, and 
(5) We will continue your hard work and efforts to make you proud!!! 
 
Note, I named us the Dream Team not because we are better than anyone but because we know our leaders dreamed of the day that we, as 5 of your past scholarship recipients would grow to lead as you once did. So with that said; WE WILL GIVE YOU OUR BEST!!!
 
During and after the chapter meeting on Saturday, there were so many great ideas shared and “WE” plan to prioritize those ideas, group with the team and go for the gusto!!! We will work together to make this a very productive year/term. It’s going to be a good year, I can feel it in my bones or that could also be my arthritis. Emoji 
 
Our current situation is finding and locking down a hotel for the 2019 Fall Board Meeting on November 1-3. Stephanie, Terria, Yvette, and I will share that information with you before the October Chapter Meeting. We thank Larry for having already started the search; we’ll pick up where he left off. We are also searching for the location of our 2019 WMAC Christmas party for December 7th (with December 14th as a backup). We are open for location suggestions.
