Hello WMAC Family.
I hope this message finds each of you in the best of health and well-being. As I sit here and reflect on my 23+ years in this very illustrious organization, I still find myself in awe of what we’ve accomplished as part of the Sampson High School Alumni Association (SHSAA) team. I’m also excited about the direction of our new SHSAA leadership team and how WMAC will play an integral role in continuing our outstanding legacy.
I truly rest on the shoulders of the many tireless leaders who served before me and those dedicated persons who continue to serve. Had it not been for the Past WMAC Chapter Presidents including Big Al Rich, Don McCalop, Faye Faison, Larry Elmore, Angela Davis-McCoy and strong supporters; Ms. Joann McCalop, Ms. Margaret Rich, Mr. Ervin Goodman, Mr. Ollen Dupree, Mr. Nathaniel Rich, Ms. Tempie Liffridge, Mr. Bob Ashford, and many others; our chapter would not have been in the great shape it is in today. Although some of those mentioned above are no longer with us, their contributions and steadfast commitment and love for our WMAC will be everlasting and resonate soundly. Now it is time for us to continue their legacy and support our efforts toward community service and scholarships.
I’d also like to say THANK YOU to the new WMAC and National 2025 – 2027 Leadership Team. This is our time to let our past leaders know these five (5) things:
(1) You are truly loved and appreciated,
(2) We were listening as you were teaching,
(3) Though you are seasoned; you remain a wealth of knowledge,
(4) You believed in us when you awarded scholarships to most of our current leadership team to go forth/do good things, and
(5) We will continue your hard work and efforts to make you proud!!!
Let us continue to strengthen the bond and legacy of SHSAA that was established in 1973 by the founders, and continued throughout the years by the officers, members, friends, and supporters. Again, thanks for your support to our main objective of enabling our promising youth to a higher education through scholarships.
Respectfully,
Ranow McCoy
